John has tried personal injury and business dispute cases to juries around Texas and won. John has been part of multiple multi-million-dollar trial verdicts and is at home fighting for his clients in the courtroom. John is regularly in court cross-examining corporate representatives and eliciting critical trial testimony from adverse witnesses. John has been selected as a Thomson Reuters Texas Rising Star in the field of personal injury litigation each year since 2019.

John is a third-generation Texas attorney who has dedicated his career to personally serving Plaintiffs in civil litigation and all aspects of trial work.

John attended Texas Christian University where he received a degree in Accounting & Finance. John’s strong academic background led to a scholarship to study law at Indiana University, where he was an E.W. Kintner Merit Scholar, drummer in the law school band, and a semi-finalist in the Maurer School of Law Trial Competition. John grew up in Dallas and played varsity baseball at Highland Park High School with three-time Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Before joining the James Law Firm, John worked as an associate attorney at Ted B. Lyon & Associates, P.C. and Simon Greenstone P.C. where he gained significant catastrophic personal injury trial experience.  Since being licensed as an attorney, John has spent thousands of hours litigating extremely large value cases involving oil and gas pipeline explosions, refinery fires, workplace disasters, 18-wheeler and motor vehicle wrecks, and injuries caused by defective products.

John has significant experience in a wide range of jury trials, and is adept at managing a docket of serious injury cases as lead attorney that includes commercial trucking and bus wrecks, oil & gas field injuries, non-subscriber workplace injuries, wrongful death claims, product liability claims, premises liability claims, and general litigation.
