Katie graduated magna cum laude with honors from the University of South Carolina and the University of Houston Law Center. Between 2016 and 2019 Katie taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Houston Law Center as an adjunct law professor. Today Katie continues to give back to her alma mater by coaching the University of Houston Mock Trial Team.
Katie feels most at home in the courtroom where she fiercely advocates for her clients. Having handled hundreds of lawsuits and represented thousands of injured Texans, Katie has been selected as a Thomson Reuters Texas Rising Star since 2017. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Texas are selected to receive this honor. In 2018, Katie was inducted into the prestigious Texas Bar College.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the legal profession, Katie was invited to become a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. This honor is bestowed upon only the top 1/3 of 1% of State Bar of Texas members each year. Katie is also a member of the State Bar of Texas’ Pro Bono Texas Campaign. Katie has proudly served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Katie is routinely appointed by Harris County Civil District Judges as a Guardian Ad Litem where she is tasked with reviewing and approving settlements for minor children that have been injured due to the negligence of others.
Katie became a licensed attorney at 23 years old. She has devoted her entire career to representing injured Texans.
When she's not busy championing the rights of her clients, Katie enjoys listening to true crime podcasts, traveling to Walt Disney World with her husband and daughters, and watching documentaries. Above all, she is a fierce believer and defender of the 7th Amendment - the right to a jury trial.
